Yet, I am very glad to have read this story. The question is can an African ever be accepted as an equal by the colonizer? Knows good restaurants to go to, very proud of his city and loves showing it to visitors. Perhaps Oyono's work almost seems cliche nowadays, which is certainly not his fault. Often, but not always, the houseboy will have a sexual relationship with one or both people living in the home. I feel largely like I'm treading into unknown territory, which is both exciting and terrifying and I like it.
